Stephen Degan - Fine Artist
Stephen Patrick Degan is a Houston, Texas native, who, after a successful career in the financial services industry, is now nurturing the artist in his soul that has been waiting to re-emerge.
Stephen's appreciation of art has over the years found expression and exerted influence on his life in many ways. Together with his natural curiosity, it has inspired a lifelong love for travel all over North America and Europe, to explore the beauty in nature, architecture and fine art. These experiences and the countless images captured with a very talented photographer's eye are inspiration for many of his paintings today.
While he has explored various media, his main focus today is oil painting to capture a wide variety of subjects, including land- and seascapes, portraits and figurative subjects and still lifes. All his work can be viewed online at www.deganArt.com.
Stephen has been studying oil painting with Gary Hernandez at the Gary J. Hernandez School of Fine Art since Spring of 2003. He has participated in a number of art exhibitions in association with the School.
